How to Find Affordable Health Insurance in Washington, DC

The D.C. Healthcare Alliance is for those who have no health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid; income limits apply. It includes hospital care, preventative care, dental care, immunization, prescription drugs, family planning, urgent and emergency room services. Patients must join the D.C. Healthcare Alliance and receive a membership card.
Families with children can take advantage of healthcare benefits through the D.C. Healthy Families Program. Incomes are limited to 300% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPV) if families are enrolling only children, and a limit of 200% of FPV is coverage is requested for the entire family. It includes insurance for hospital and doctor services, dental and vision, and prescription medicines.
