How to Find Affordable Health Insurance in the State of North Dakota

North Dakota Affordable Health InsuranceNorth Dakota offers many healthcare services for low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled.

Children, for example, are ensured medical coverage if they are from families whose income does not exceed 160% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) under the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). This program is designed to help people who don't qualify for Medicaid and whose children are 18 or younger without insurance coverage.

Health Tracks is available for Medicaid eligible families and provides free preventative health services for children, such as vaccinations, glasses and dental services. North Dakota also offers Medicaid to the elderly (65 and older), blind, disabled, children 19 and younger, and pregnant women with qualifying income levels.

The North Dakota Department of Health has the Women's Way program for North Dakota women age 40 through 64 not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare, have no health insurance, or cannot pay insurance deductibles or co-pays. Income guidelines apply. Covered services include breast and cervical cancer screenings.
