How to Find Affordable Health Insurance in the State of Missouri

Missouri Affordable Health InsuranceThe Missouri Department of Social Services, HealthNet Division, provides affordable health insurance for low-income citizens of Missouri.

Those eligible for MO HealthNet includes low-income families, pregnant women and children under 19.

HealthNet for Families provides Medicaid health insurance for low-income families. HealthNet for Pregnant Women is for low-income pregnant women whose incomes do not exceed 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Women's Health Services Program can cover medical expenses following childbirth for an additional year. There is HealthNet for the elderly (over 65), blind or disabled, HealthNet for disabled children, and Supplemental Nursing care coverage.

Qualified Medicare Beneficiary pays for Medicare Part A (hospital) premium, deductible and co-payments cost for those with incomes within 100% of FPL, Specified Low Income Medicare Beneficiary is for people with incomes at 100% to 120% of FPL and pays for Medicare Part B (medical) premiums.

MO HealthNet for Kids gives children under 18 full medical benefits under the plan, including dental and vision. Uninsured children whose family income is within 100%, 133% and 185% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), depending on age of children, are eligible. Children in families with incomes within 150% to 300% of FPL and have been uninsured for at least six months can also apply; a monthly premium is charged but is capped at 5% of their income.
